ABOUT US

ABOUT US

D. Blount Maritime Services is a Mooring & Dive Service company based out of Bristol. We are actively pursuing new clients and would like the opportunity to introduce you to our owner and operator, Dan Blount. Dan is a licensed Captain and certified Diver, with over 15 years experience working on the water both inshore and offshore. Along with running the business, Dan is a Full-Time Fire Fighter & EMT in the city of Newport.

Dan’s love of the water stems from his Parents, Kevin and Stacey. Dan’s Summers were spent on Prudence Island boating, fishing, and developing a passion for the Bay. Dan’s Father a retired Chief bosun mate in the United States Coast Guard who spent two tours serving at the station in Bristol, his latter as the chief introduced him to mooring systems.  His parents taught him the importance of putting your name on your work and what it means to do a job right the first time.

Dan’s introduction to the business of mooring management came during his time on Nantucket as the Assistant Harbormaster where he served under a retired USCG Senior Chief, assisting with mooring inspections as well as the management of the multiple mooring fields around the island.

Dan returned to the area in 2013 and spent 4 years working for Save the Bay captaining their 45' educational vessels and managing their public programs. On the weekends, Dan captained the M/V Herbert C. Bonner, which is the 122' passenger and car ferry that runs between Bristol and Prudence Island.

D. Blount Maritime Services prides itself on quality, timely work. Our responsiveness to both our current customers, as well as prospective customers is second to none. We do everything we can to make sure the client is both satisfied with the work, and can sleep easy knowing the vessel they have on their mooring is safe and secure.

If you are looking for a change in inspectors, or are interested in the services we provide, please feel free to contact us anytime.

See you out on the water!
